This recipe is delish...the only change I made was to add 2 tbsps of flour instead of 2 tsps the recipe calls for. Its my "go to" mac & cheese recipe...its sooooo good.

EXCELLENT recipe and I only made 2 small changes. Based on several reviews about it being a bit soupy, I used 4 teaspoons of flour instead of 2. I also topped it with 1 cup of Panko breadcrumbs mixed with 4 tablespoons of melted butter. It browned beautifully and gave the dish a wonderful crunch. I found that extra-wide egg noodles, COOKED AL DENTE, worked beautifully and held up well when baked. This dish reheats very well in the oven but I wouldn't recommend reheating in a microwave as it seems to break down the fats and makes the breadcrumb topping soggy. Giada mentioned that this recipe is based on a dish she had in Harry's Bar in Venice. I'm happy to be able to make this at home since, when in Venice, Harry's bar was way to expensive to dine.

My go-to mac/cheese recipe. So delicious! Get raves everytime I make it for a group. Use Tablespoons for the flour, not teaspoons.

This mac & cheese is AMAZING and so easy!!!!! I leave out the ham and mix up the cheeses to include gouda and sharp cheddar.

It was just Ok. The recipe was good and came out ok, but I just thought it needed more umpf. I think I like mine with more "cheesy flavor". Maybe I should have added the ham. I think the sauce should have been more velvety. Mine was mixed well, but it seemed a bit lumpy and wasn't as pretty as I thought it should have been.

I loved how creamy and light this macaroni tasted! I had never tried Fontina cheese before this recipe and I have fallen in love with it!

This is the best Mac and Cheese, my daughter made is for Thanksgiving and the entire family loved it so much until it was eaten up in less than 30 minutes!!!! Any recipe by Giada is wonderful. My daughter wants to be a chef because of her.
