I made this dish for a potluck dinner at a friend's house, and it didn't last long at all! I caught one of my guy friends going back for thirds and had to restrain him because not everyone had eaten yet. It was so delicious and I got many compliments. Giada is the best!

I am not a mac N cheese person but I thought my husband would love this. It is the best mac N cheese I have ever made. We both love to eat this dish and we make it all the time. The only thing I have noticed is depending on how big your noodles are depends on the amount of milk to put in.

THIS IS SUCH A WONDERFUL TWIST TO "ORDINARY" MAC & CHEESE!!! IT'S NOT WHAT YOU MIGHT EXPECT. THE FONTINA CHEESE TASTES GREAT IN COMBO WITH THE OTHER CHEESES. I SUBSTITUTED THE HAM WITH CANADIAN BACON. MY 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HELPED MIX AND CHOP INGREDIANTS. THIS WILL BE SERVED AGAIN AND AGAIN IN MY HOUSE FOR SURE! VERY GOOD GIADA---THANK YOU

I made this recipe for the first time two weeks ago and again tonight it was AWESOME!!!! I followed the recipe to the letter. I will say after taking it out of the oven and letting it rest for the 10 minutes suggested it was still a bit on the saucy side, but after it sat for about an hour and even the next day after being refrigerated it jelled and then had the consistency of your regular baked mac and cheese. Please please please ad the ham it was such a nice touch. My boyfriend called me from work raving about how good his left over mac and cheese lunch was... I have to also say I have read a lot of the reviews on here and I just cant seem to understand how someone can try a recipe tweak it to high heaven and then when it doesn't come out the way it should have they right a bad review. Follow the recipe the way it's written if that doesn't come out to your liking then by all means report your experience. Thank you Giada for another fabulous recipe!

Well done Giada AGAIN!! I made this over the wknd and was a HUGE success!!! The one thing I do recommend is DO NOT skip out on buying the fresh cheese and grating it yourself!!!! It is so creamy and delicious. I added more ham to it as I made it a main meal. You could add so many things to it to make a meal. veggies could go in it, Chicken. With the mozzarella cheese I put in freezer for a little bit to make it easier to grate up!! I will be making this again and playing around with what I add in it!!!
