I'm not a big mac&cheese fan, but my wife and friends loved it. It came out great. It looked a bit runny at first, but once it sits for a few minutes....It is Mmmmmm Good!

I have made other recipes from Giada, but this one was a great disappointment. The sauce was like eating warm, salty milk, the cheese did not meld with the sauce and the ham, in addtion to the salt, made the dish way too salty.
I tried again with making a bechemel sauce - warming the milk (cutting the milk and cream by 1/3 with the flour and melting the cheese prior to adding it to the pasta. This worked well and I did add the ham which without the salt, is a very nice addition to the recipe.

Very rich. Mine turned out a bit soupy. Will consider reducing the amount of cream.

It takes a pretty special dish to warrant five stars from me and because this is the best mac-n-cheese recipe I've ever made I'm giving it 5 stars. I, like many people, have only ever thought of making this dish with cheddar cheese. Never again! It is a decadent but totally worthwhile dish to make at least once a month or when you want to impress a crowd. WARNING: The recipe is wrong. I saw Giada whisk TWO tablespoons of flour in the milk on TV so make sure you use TWO tablespoons of flour.

This dish was great tasting and easy to make. I bought all the ingredients and spent about $25.00 with plenty of ingredients left over such as flour, cheese, milk, etc.
I served this dish with a plain loaf of fresh baked French bread and wish I had made a dinner salad to go with. This dish is very rich and tasty.
Serve and eat in moderation.

My family doesn't enjoy traditional mac and cheese. This recipe was a welcomed twist on this classic comfort food. Rich enough for a Christmas dinner - this dish was the hit of the night. The recipe was requested many times! I did use 2 T of flour instead of just one. Wasn't runny at all! It is almost like an alfredo casserole (in a very, very good way!My mom and I enjoyed it even more at room temperature as we were dividing (a.k.a. fighting over the leftovers. Wonderful, wonderful recipe. It's now a holiday tradition for my family! Thank you!!!
