I halved this recipe with no problem and found it to be delicious and easy to make. My first homemade mac & cheese!

Like other reviewers, I found the finished results runny. I used left over roasted chicken breast in place of the ham but that shouldn't have made it run. I think the cream and milk should be cut down and more cheese added. My husband was not impressed with the results and we usually love Giada's recipes. Not sure will make this again as the price for the cheeses alone in this one dish blew my budget over the top.

This was a great and simple pasta dish that me and my boyfriend loved. I started the preparations when I realized I was out of milk so I used more Fontina to substitute. It turned out great! Also, I used smoked turkey instead of ham.

After reading some reviews that complained the finished product was too runny, I added an extra tablespoon of flour and slightly more cheese. Other than those two small changes I followed the recipe exactly as printed on this website (I did not see the episode. Despite my changes, this still turned out way too runny. And I did let it sit for about 15 minutes before serving. There seems to be way too much whipping cream/milk called for in this recipe. It tasted somewhat bland.

This recipe was so easy to make, and was absolutely everything she promised it would be! The ingredients were easy to find in the grocery store, and I would highly recommend adding the ham. We ate the mac & cheese as our main dish along with a simple salad. Incredible!

This dish tasted good, but it was so rich, you could barley eat a bowlful. It was also a small fortune to make. I spent $12 just in cheese! Next time I'll go out to eat.
