This was not a big hit for us. I think it was the Fontina cheese that just didn't hit the spot. My daughter thought this mac & cheese resembled alfredo sauce just a little bit. I was worried when I took it out of the oven; it was very soupy, but it firmed up very just great after it sat for 10-15 minutes. We tried one with no additions, and another with ham & broccoli. Unfortunately, this recipe just isn't for us.

OMG, this was the the truth! I axed the ham and the noodles for elbow mac, and it turned out well. I was pleasantly surprised. Most things I see and decide to make, don't turn out like I think they will, but this was good. Gooey on top and and warm and tangy in the middle. Will make again, maybe for Thanksgiving. Thanks Giada!

This recipe was AMAZING. I skimped out on the extra Fontina cheese on top and it still turned out amazing. I added crumbled pieces of bacon and breadcrumbs before baking and it gave it a PERFECT crunch. I used about 1 3/4 cups of elbow macaroni instead of egg noodles to give it more of a "macaroni" feel. Before I put it in the oven, it was super runny and I was afraid it was going to be that way but after it came out of the oven and sat for about 5 minutes, it was absolutely perfect. My husband went for FOUR helpings of this! Will definitely be making again!

This is the ultimate comfort food. My dad is very picky when it comes to food like this, and he said it was the best mac and cheese he ever had! A must have recipe!

PS - I used prosciutto instead of ham. Upped the flavor just a bit!
