I am 19 years old and this was my first cheesecake! I made a couple changes when I made it. I used less butter as another review commented the recipe used to much. I used 1 stick of butter for the crust. I also baked the cheesecake around 15-20 min. longer than the recipe called for. I did not try the lemon basil glaze. I thought the basil would taste strange and some other reviews said it was not that great. Great recipe, now I want to make Giada's mini chocolate cheesecakes!!
Oh yeah, one more thing... I love Giara. haha

I was really excited about this after seeing the episode, but am so disappointed. It's not as if making a cheesecake from scratch takes 5 minutes - so you want it to be worth all the trouble. This one is not. Too much butter in the crust makes it hard to work with. The filling doesn't taste anything like mangoes, mostly just ricotta cheese and eggs. I will not make this again.

The cheese cake looked interesting when Giada made it but I was still not sure about the sauce> I said oke I will try it. First off it tastes NOTHING like mangos. It was like a really really bad egg custard with a pesto sauce. The consistancy was not good and I followed the recipe to the tee. I really did not enjoy this. Generally Giada comes up with some good recipes this was definitely NOT one!! Save your money!!!

We all really enjoyed this cheesecake-a great change of flavor from the norm. I think you need to be aware that this is not Sara Lee! I used frozen mango (1 whole bag pureed and the mango taste really did come thru. But the addition of the lemon basil sauce was crazy good! I even added zest. The butter was way too extreme of an amount. I used 1 stick, but next time will reduce it to at least 3/4 of a stick. Don't be afraid to try something exotic like this-it's really fun!

This was delicious. Everyone that tried it loved it. The mango taste in the cheesecake was subtle, and was accented perfectly by the basil lemon syrup. I substituted gingersnaps for the biscotti in the crust, and it turned out well. I would suggest reducing the butter in the crust by 2T, as mine was a bit greasy when I put it in the pan. I'm planning on preparing this again for a large party.

This cheesecake came out just perfectly each of the three times I have made it. I have been asked to make it for a family member who is entertaining friends...so she can WOW her guests! Everyone who has tasted this recipe is awestruck.

I tried making this and it came out completely inedible. It does not taste of mangos but more like Eggs and Cheese. It looked quite terrible and the crust was way too moist. I made it as said, but used a mixer instead of a food processor since it's so much stuff it wouldn't fit. I'll leave this one to the pro's I guess.

I usually love Giada's cooking, but not this time. This recipes is not quite good at all. When I cut the cake, it collasped. It was firm all the way. This is my least favorite cake. I like the idea of basil syrup though.
