I watched the show and paid close attention. Simmer the syrup for 35 min. Then, soak the fruit in the syrup for 1 1/2 hours. I am not sure about the wait time between simmering and soaking. I am going to make this tomorrow...let you know how it turns out! I will give it 5 stars now...I will change later if necessary!

Just watched this episode today & promised to try this recipe, but as with other reviewers, I was disappointed that no cooking time instructions were on website & do not remember how long Giada had the fruits simmering before removing the star anise, cinnamon & lifting the fruits out of the syrup before cooling so the berries & mango wouldn't fall apart. Bummer.

Where do I find the "instructions" for the recipe? After watching Giada's show yesterday, my husband bought all the ingredients and brought them to his fire station so that he could make it for the guys, and now I can't find instructions! I guess he'll have to bring all his ingredients home, and hope that soon the instructions are here!

There are NO directions! Am I supposed to cook the syrup?

A friend brought over a lemon polenta cake, and with this dessert, it was over the top delicious. Like Lisa, I double the fruit and kept the same amount of "sauce."

This is a wonderful "light" dessert! I made it for 14 people and multiplied the fruit but still only did one bottle/one recipe for the liquid and I had PLENTY of the "sauce". I also added pineapple to the fruit (I had one sitting on my counter. It was really yummy even the next day. Serve with some biscotti on the side. Perfect!
