Like other reviewers, I found the sizing of the pan and the timing off. I wanted to make these for a party and bought two packages of dough. After following the recipe with the first batch and not being happy with the consistency of the base, I rolled the second batch of dough to get a thinner base for the small cookies I wanted. I baked this somewhat free-form shape on a cookie sheet, cut the edges off while it was warm to get a rectangle then iced it with the chocolate mixture. This gave me the cookie size I wanted. My husband liked the cookies a lot. I would have preferred a more delicate tasting cookie.

Does anyone know if this recipe is in one of Giada's cookbooks? I can't help but think that either the size of the pan or the baking time must be a typo. There is no way that crust is anywhere near cooked correctly in the time specified. I had to bake it almost 27 minutes before the center wasn't mushy. Otherwise, this recipe was a dream to make. The whole house smelled wonderful. I cut it into really small pieces because it's so rich.

My niece, Annie, made that as a dessert one night, and I've been hooked ever since. No one would believe how easy this delicious and elegant dessert is to make. If you're short on time and want to impress someone, try this recipe. Can't go wrong. I've made it using both mascarpone and cream cheese. Either way, can't lose. Try it. You'll love it.

I had to use an 8x8 pan because I didn't have the size pan the recipe called for. As a result, I had very chewy, slightly undercooked cookie base. If I had read the other reviews, I would have baked it much longer!!

Otherwise, it's terrific!! Very simple to make and a crowd pleaser.

Love this recipe! I actually used my own sugar cookie recipe to make the cookie dough instead of buying it and it came out great!

These bars are absolutely delicious and very rich! This is my first time making the recipe, and, after baking them, I was glad to read that someone else had to bake the crust longer than the recipe indicates.

Are you kidding me. This is an absolute hit from any viewpoint. So many smooth blended tastes come together in one heavenly recipe. A little goes a long way, so it's the perfect dessert to serve small portions to many.

I have made these 4 times since I saw the show 2 weeks ago. The guys that work with my husband ate an entire pan in one day! They are very very yummy! I mix milk chocolate chips with the semi sweet & I use about 1 & 1/2 cups instead of 1. I love chocolate. I also use 3 toffee bars instead of 2!

I made these for a co-worker's brithday and brought them in to work. Everyone absolutely raved about them and couldn't believe they were homemade and not purchased at some fancy bakery (they looked so pretty. I love that about Giada's recipes. They always come out delicous and looking as good as they do when she makes them!

This is one of the best deserts I have ever tasted! The textures of silky smoothness and crunchy really take this one over the top! It is by far the easiest decadent desert you will ever make!

One tip though... make sure the cookie is completely cool before making the chocolate and mascarpone topping and spread it on top of the cookie as soon as its mixed. I waited a little while and it hardened up solid... so I had to melt it again in the double boiler to get is soft enough to spread.

    Decadent and Delicious!
