These were great! I agree that buying pizza dough is the way to go. Or if you are going to make it yourself, dont follow this recipe but search for Emeril's on this site. It's much better. I think next time I will try making these even a bit smaller for picking up like finger foods. A little red pepper flakes too. Thanks Giada!

I drive an hour to get great calzones. Now I dont have to. the seafood one is fantastic. I even changed it for pepperoni and ham. Not as good as the seafood one. wow, it that an awesome receipe. I have a whole family of italians to feed, they loved the seafood calzone!!!!

this is my husbands FAVORITE meal & when he has a bad day or needs a pick me up, he always reqeusts this one!!! So simple. You can master it after the first time! The "sauce" smells heavenly while it's cooking. Drink the wine you cook it with & you have a great meal!

Easy to make - but - dough is hard after being baked. Dough browns too fast for inside ingredients to melt and warm (if using cold, maybe a lower cooking temp is needed 350 - 400 degrees. I will try again but with a differnt dough recipe - one that is more moist and elastic. Otherwise my family enjoyed them. Can also use different ingredients like ham / cheese, mini meatballs and sauce / lamb.

This recipe was terrific -- the dough was easy to make and the method made the process very unmessy.
One note: make sure the tomato sauce really cooks down to just the solid component. Too much liquid will make the calzone soggy and hard to seal before baking. It will still bake fine, but the final presentation will be compromised.

When I first looked at this recipe, shrimp pizza didn't really sound too appetizing. But I took a chance and made it for my roommates and it was a hit.

Wonderful, fantastic, fragrant, sinful, simply not enough room to list the adjectives that describe this dish. I made them with pepperoni, ham, brocolli & chicken, you name it and I used it. All of them were superb!! Let your imagination go wild you can fill the dough with anything imaginable.
We like a thicker sauce so I used diced tomatoes and mashed them a little with my potato masher results - the absolute best marinara!! As my husband said this is a DEFINATE "DO OVER".

This dish was very easy to prepare, and it's virtually impossible to mess up! It's also very easy to remember, so you can cook it again and again, and maybe even make your own variations. Great!
