I loved this recipe!! I didn't have the oven temperature problems other had. You might be tempted to put it in a larger baking sheet instead of the small 9 inch pan which, spread out, could cause it to bake too quickly at that temp. I stirred mine about 3 times during baking and it came out golden and crunchy.

Temperature of oven way too High!! I burnt my first batch. The oven shouldn't be higher than 325. Also, the time is completely incorrect this shouldn't take anymore than 15 minutes

All-in-all I found this to be DELICIOUS!!! Like so many others, however, I'm glad I read the reviews first so I could adjust my baking time accordingly.

I used dark brown sugar and raw wildflower honey in mine. I also added the fruit AFTER baking as many other granola recipes I've seen suggest adding it after cool down as the baking process can dry the fruit too much.

As to baking time, I made a double-batch so I baked at 300 degrees for 40 minutes (stirring after 10, 15, 15 which was a tad too long (a few more minutes and I think it might have burned. Next time I'll go 30 minutes, stirring every 10, for a double batch.

If you've never made granola before, know that while it gets drier as it bakes, it still comes out a bit wet/sticky and does its final drying/crisping as it cools.

(P.S. to Food Network - is there a place in our recipe box where we can make such "change notations" for our own use/recollection if we have to tweak a recipe?

I basically followed the recipe to the T but I did add raisins because I happen to have them in my pantry. This granola is amazing!!! I could not believe how good my kitchen smelled of cinnamon while it was in the oven. I love that the ingredients are things I always have in my pantry but I also enjoy that its not super sweet like the store bought brands.

This recipe is very delicious!!! It tastes better than store bought granola and is definately ALOT cheaper to make!! It's def better for you and isn't as sugary as storebought. I baked instead at 275 for one hour and stirred every 15 min though, for a better texture. It came out perfect! I also used applesauce instead of butter, which gave me perfect clumps of granola. I added a mixture of dried fruit and nuts instead of just one type. I also added a little bit of almond extract for flavor too and some nutmeg. When i made another batch i also added dark coccoa powder and that turned out great too. This is a very great recipe :

I have never made granola, and I was really impressed with this recipe. I used less cinnamon and took another reviewer's suggestion of adding almond extract as well. I baked mine for 20 minutes at 350 - you'll want to keep checking it until it looks/smells done. This was delicious with Greek yogurt and honey. Tried it with and without the berries and thought the berries overpowered it. It was even better over low fat vanilla ice cream with caramel syrup!

Love it!!! So delicious, so easy! The only problem I see is that I can't stop eating it. My husband even ate it with some skim milk as cereal; stayed nice and crunchy!

Ooo wee, this recipe makes some delicious granola! It's also very inexpensive and you can customize it and make it fancy, or organic. I used 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup pecans, because I had no almonds. I fretted over this, but the granola is fantastic. I also used "fruit bits" from the dried food section (had no cranberries with apples, dates, and raisens. I had a small lunch-pack size of sunflower seeds which I threw in, probably 2 tbsp. I read the reviews before (thanks fellow foodies and cooked it for 10 mins on 300. It didn't seem at all crispy, so I turned off the oven and left it in there about 10 more minutes. The granola is not hugely crunchy, but it has the appropriate texture and now I can share with my toddler, who has eight teeth. I have lots of ideas for next time. We spend a lot of cash on granola in the midwest, and this simple recipe with whole ingredients, is sure to become a favorite of my family.

This is fabulous! The honey really brings the flavors together. This is the third time I have made the recipe since Mother's Day. I only needed about 15 minutes baking time. Thank you for sharing your Mother's recipe.
