Wasn't really blown away by the flavor of this sandwich, but I like the idea of making a sandwich from the round loaf instead of a hoagie bun.

Made 3 of these on Saturday for Super Bowl Sunday. So good--but even better on Monday! And still quite today--on Tuesday. And this from someone who usually doesn't like "soaky" bread. This bread had so much flavor with the dressing soaked into it, I didn't care!! Started with my own homemade pugliese, but made no other alterations. I did stuff them exceptionally full and really wrapped them tight. By Sunday afternoon, they were gorgeous.

I've made this three times since last year and it was a hit every time, especially at last year's Super Bowl party. Making the sandwich the night before allows the flavors to really blend. Outstanding!
However, depending how much other food is on the menu, this Muffuletta can serve a LOT more than 6-8. I had leftovers, but the sandwich only stays good a day or so. Plan accordingly.

I made the Muffuletta for the recent NFC championnship game and everyone came back looking for more. Some of my guests wanted the recipe for their superbowl parties. Nor only was it delicious but it is the perfect make ahead food to allow the host to enjoy the party. Thanks, Giada!

My family of four ate this wonderful sandwich in record time. My son said to make two next time. So easy and delish!

Brought this to a pot-luck lunch party. There was a ton of food left at the end, but my muffuletta was snatched up right away. People loved it. Very easy to put together and assemble. Loved the flavors. Only caution is I was a little liberal with some of the olive mix juice, throwing what was left on the end. Made part of the bread a bit soggy. (Saying that, it was all eaten, so I guess people didn't mind.

This is so easy to put together and is best when made ahead of time. It is now my standard for get togethers. Everyone absolutely loves it and I never have any leftover to cart home.

My boyfriend was in awe when i cut the sandwich in half - he could hardly believe I made it! Overall the sandwich was excellent. Only a couple things I will probably change for next time: I will not take as much bread out of the bowl, as it became a little soggy and fell apart in some places (I used an italian paesano round loaf - sourdough probably would have held together better. I also thought the tapenade was a little strong, and may change that up to include less olives. Besides those things, wow!
