I have replaced tomatoes with roasted red peppers which makes the salad a little bit heartier. My whole family loves it. This is my ultimate comfort food.

I omitted the shrimp and calamari and swapped yellow zucchini for the eggplant and it was soooo fresh and delicious. We usually have this salad for lunch, but, I am sure, if the shrimp is left in...would be fabulous for dinner with a glass of wine!

I made this following the recipe to a T with the exception of the calamari (I omitted that and my husband and I did not care for it at all. We felt that the basil and eggplant were very over powering....will not be making this again.

LOVE this recipe! i make it all the time...it's so clean and fresh! I have used all kinds of vegetables, even regular eggplant over italian. Just make sure you wash the arugula!

It's my favoite receipe. Since my husband will not eat calamari, I sub it for white skinless breast chicken. It works really well with the shrimp. It's always a crowd pleaser, and always delicious.

This is a good, simple dish to make yet maintains interest. I wish the calamari could have been more of a stand out; it kind of gets lost in the veggies.

My husband is not a fan of seafood so I tried this with sliced Italain sausage links to mesh our tastes. Well, hubby didn't care for the flavors.... I think it would have been great with the shrimp and calamari instead of our substitution. Makes a ton so I've had leftovers for lunch this week and like the idea of getting in a lot of veggies mid day. Since dressing is not too heavy it held up pretty good in the fridge during the week. I look forward to making it with the seafood for a future mom's night out potluck!

Being diabetic, I'm always on the lookout for healthy and delicious recipes. Giada's Neapolitan Calamari and Shrimp Salad was just what I needed. A great balance of vegetables, protein and starches (from the pasta and beans - it's pretty much a complete meal! I loved the grilled flavor of the eggplant and zucchini. The arugula gave the salad a real lively taste. And the shrimp and calamari paired nicely with the vegetables. I'd love to try this with grilled salmon sometime. I'm sure it will be equally awesome!

I made this a few times this summer for friends and was amazed at the fresh flavors and beautiful presentation it made. I used different colors of heirloom tomatoes and lots of lemon juice and fresh herbs. Arugula is key in this dish. Thanks Giada!
