If one word can decribe this crisp its YUM! So, so good! You have to make this! The topping of mascarpone cheese on top makes it even more special, although not necessary. I used jarred peaches instead of nectarines and it still turned out wonderful. The Amarretti Cookies and Amerreto liquer gave it that extra something special as well. Amaretti can be hard to find but I usually find it at my local Bristol Farms. This recipe is definetly a keeper! :

This dessert's tartiness was too much for me. In part because of the blueberries (not a big fan and also because the nectarines i bought werent all the way ripe (not a winter fruit here in iowa. The highlight was the crust w/the mascarpone, thumbs up. However instead of using amaretti cookies i used plained almond cookies. I'll keep working w/this dessert but instead of blueberries i'll use some other fruit and i'll make sure that the nectarines or peaches are ripe. My family thought the same so we'll see what happens

Excellent struesel topping. I was forced to make some substitutions - peaches for nectarines and the one I was nervous about - crushed almond orange biscotti crushed when there was no ameretti cookies to be had. It still turned out really well.

I chnaged the recipe up a bit.. only used blueberries, used gingersnaps, and bourbon instead of amaretto... still, positively tasty and decadent. Giada knows her stuff!

This receipe was easy and delicious. I changed it up a bit by adding some Thin Mints I had from a box of girl scout cookies and I really liked the chocolate crunch it added.
