I think this recipe is a good foundation-- but am surprised by the rave reviews of others. It is indeed a stiff dough , to the point of dry. Making this for a key holiday work brunch, I tested this in batches before-hand.

-- I used dark chocolate chunks (62% cacao
-- I mascerated the cranberries in orange juice and 1 tbsp. Grand Marnier

-- Do NOT overbake!!! They will be as dry as dirt.

--I drizzled white chocolate on top of a few cookies, and garnished with toasted coconut. I added pistacio nuts to a few others.

--I added orange zest to the batter, which made a huge difference.

--Will add another egg next time and some orange juice for a moister cookie.

--Would work well with cherries and almonds for February.

My husband and I love these cookies! They are much larger than pictured on the show. I will use a smaller scope next time. YUMMY:>

How do I even begin, these cookies are DELICIOUS! They were so easy to make, and they taste scrumptious! We did have to tweak a few of the ingredients because our panty was lacking. We had to substitute dark brown sugar instead of light, and we chose to use white chocolate chips instead of a bittersweet chocolate. They still came out perfectly divine! They even look like Christmas! We tried one batch warm, and we let another batch cool for 20 minutes. We enjoyed them both ways!

These are THE BEST oatmeal cookies I have ever had. They are chewy, moist, and delicious. I highly recommend them!
