I realized beforehand that I wouldn't like the orange flavor and that it might be also be too sweet so instead I used honey. It REALLY complimented the nuts and chocolate well! It was so good! I will DEFINITELY make this again!

I made this recipe except that I made it with rasberry jam, sprinkled slivered almonds, and drizzled white chocolate on top and cut into smaller squares. What a hit, especially at Christmas. I have given the recipe at least a dozen times.

I just made this then read the reviews and was scared it was going to be to sweet. But it is just right,i had to thin the chocolate with a little canola oil and used a baggie to drizzle it on.I also cut it in much smaller squares then the recipe called for.It was delicious.

My friend and I just made this for a lovely dessert and it was incredible. For those of you, who find it too sweet, you might want to try using a bittersweet chocolate instead of semi-sweet. It makes a difference. Also trying using a more natural sugar marmalade such as an organic version. Smucker's has an organic version, which is a bit thinner but still has the orange pieces and lovely peels and zest within it. It works wonders.

After reading the reviews, I only spread a very thin layer of orange marmalade on the crust. I topped that with toasted chopped pecans, slivered almonds, and walnuts. Then added the topping of melted chocolate chips, thinned with a little canola oil. It was absolutely delicious and got rave reviews from the whole family. Not too sweet at all. In fact, the next time I will make the layer of orange marmalade a little thicker as we could barely taste the thin layer I had put on. But, I will make again and again. So good and so, so easy. Thanks, Giada!

I saw Giada make this dessert on tv the other day and I would've drove straight to the grocery store to get all of the ingredients, except it was getting too close to my kid's bed time and I had to take care of that. The next morning, I read several reviews about it being too sweet, but still wanted to try it anyway and thought the reviews were mistaken. After making it, I wanted so bad for it to be delicious, but it really was incredibly sweet. It might be okay if you put a very very thin layer of the orange marmalade, but I still think the combination of everything will be overpowering and again, too sweet. I still enjoy most of Giada's recipes I've tried though, so I will still try more, expecially if they look delicious on tv.

This recipe was so easy and tasty. Everyone in the family absolutely loved this bar cookie. It was just the right amount of chocolate and sweetness. Great recipe! I will make it again and again.

I had high hopes for this easy little dessert. I dont hate it, but I think its a bit TOO sweet. Nice combination of flavors though, the nuts the chocolate and orange. Not adding this to my recipe box. I probably wont make it again, its ok though. Giada has plenty more to make up for it

Instead of orange marmalade, I used apricot jam because that was all I had on hand. Also, to make the chocolate drizzle more manageable, I added a few drops of vegetable oil to the melted chocolate and put it into a plastic ziploc bag, snipping a little piece off the corner and squeezing it out onto the squares like a pastry bag. It worked great and the squares did not taste too sweet at all with the apricot jam. Next time, I will try a low-sugar version. This recipe is so easy to make and quite yummy!!!!!!

I have made these cookies twice and (love the flavor combination of orange w/ chocolate and nuts; very Italian, but both times have had the same result. The cookie dough is sticking to my glass baking dish, making it difficult to cut into neat squares. Also, agree with comments that they are too sweet. It's not the sugar cookie part that is too sweet, but rather the orange marmalade. I will try a lower sugar version (good tip! or reduce the amount of orange marmalade. I am also having a hard time getting my chocolate to become thin enough to "drizzle", but will try the tip of adding a drop of vegetable oil when melting the chocolate chips.
