I love the concept behind this recipe but my target audience doesn't care for orange - so I made two variations on the theme. One using gingerbread cookie dough with pumpkin butter and pecans (YUMMY. The other using sugar cookie dough with Nutella and hazelnuts. OH MY GOSH - so easy and so tasty. Looks like I slaved for awhile in the kitchen but took very little effort. 5 stars!

I tried these once with raspberry jam and white chocolate chips and it was far too sweet. I did this because the orange/choco combo didn't hit me as appetizing. This time I did the orange with toasted almonds and they were so good. I bought the fine cut marmalade. I am not sure if I would like these with the marmalade that has big bits of orange rind in it. My only recommendation is to grease the pan. My cookies sort of stuck to the pan.

While I wouldn't qualify this is as an out of this world recipe, it was definitely very yummy and everyone I gave the bars to seemed to love! Insanely easy.

I have made this on several occasions and have found that is a favorite. My family loved it so much they made sure I did two batches the next time I made it, so that there would be some left for the next day. It is never enough though. I have found that everytime I took this one to a party I have had people come up to me begging for the recipe. I have to say it is one that is easy, cheep, and fast to make and yet it looks like a delicacy.

It was alright. I seemed to like it better than anyone esle in my family. Next time I think I will try something other than orange marmalade.

I recently made these for a family gathering. I made two pans using raspberry preserves and apricot preserves both with toasted pecans. Both flavors were well received and I have been asked for the recipe. I did not have the actual recipe in hand when I made them, but remembered what Giada had said and recalled her instructions from memory. Great! ! !

I'm not a fan of orange marmalade, but I love apricot jam, and with that replacement, these were very tasty.

although the idea sounded great, i realize orange marmalade is an acquired taste. i split my cookie dough in half; spreading strawberry jam on one half and nutella on the other. i melted semi sweet chocolate (1/2 cup is more than enough the nutella was the best by a long shot. i cooked my dough for 15 minutes @ 350 and it was too long; next time i'll bake at 350 for 12 minutes
