Haven't made these yet but plan to today. I adjust many of my recipes for almond flour and it gives it a nice texture and flavor. The best place I've found the almond flour or almond meal is Trader Joes if you are lucky enough to have one near you. It's good and a good price. I do not have one in the state I live in but will buy some when I travel and keep it in the freezer.

Moist, a little dense, and Delicious. I couldnt find almond flour so I opted for coconut flour. Worked fine! I also used some whole wheat and all purpose...just a mixture. I used have regular sugar and half raw sugar and about tablespoon of agave. Instead of 4 eggs, I did 3...with one egg white...nothing major really. I think they are wonderful and my Mom, who isnt usually a fan of "fancy" or "different", totally loved them as well. I will definitely make again!

Bob's Red Mill is another brand for almond flour. I use it often. If it is not in the regular baking aisle, check the organic and natural foods department of your supermarket. I buy it at Kroger Supermarket or Whole Foods Market, and it is available on their web site. You can also make your own almond flour by grinding the almonds yourself.
A particularly addictive cookie made with almond flour is Cherry Almond Bites (I downloaded it from Eating Well Magazine's web site (November/December 2009. I have even made these cookies with Splenda for diabetic relatives.
Once you learn about the variety of flours available, you will be inspired to bake more recipes. I like to keep ground flax seeds, dried flaked coconut, and a variety of dried fruits such as dates, figs, cherries, and cranberries on hand to use in my baking. The dates are particularly versatile if you want to cut down on sugar in brownies, etc.

I made the recipe just as stated. Very blah tasting, and definitely not sweet enough. I will throw this recipe away! VERY disappointing!

If you are looking for almond flour, go to king arthur flour company, They have a wonderful variety of specialty items. Try the roasted almond flour or hazelnut flour in cookies.

I can't find almond flour in my local supermarket, can you just use another cup of all-purpose flour in place of the 1 cup almond flour?

Tasty, not too sweet and easy! Perfect little breakfast muffin. Like one of the other reviews, I am sure a glaze would be good but these are yummy and healthy on their own.

Great flavor, not real sweet, great for morning coffee. Next time to please those sweet eaters in my home I am going to make a little glaze for the top instead of just dusting with powdered sugar.
