Trouble peeling? Make sure to use a sharp vegetable peeler, a dull one digs into the pith. Some oranges are soft and hard to peel, buy extras to replace the difficult ones. Make sure to use 100 proof vodka or Ever Clear alcohol. I think this smells wonderful, my husband liked it better than limoncello. Of course he doesn't like lemons like I do.I steep for several weeks, I think you get a nicer product.

This was excellent! My grocery store did not have organic oranges, so I just bought a bag of regular oranges and used 8 instead of 7; but I made sure I washed them well. The recipe says to steep the peels for 4 days, but I had the extra time so I steeped them for 12, however there wasn't much difference in the color of the vodka from day 4 to day 12, so I don't know how much difference it made. The simple syrup was easy to make and add. The following day I strained it through cheesecloth and then chilled it for a few hours. Voila, a wonderful, tasteful and worth-the-effort drink!

Let's be nice - a fine quality in every good chef. Perhaps if you use a really good vodka, like Grey Goose, you'd find what the rest of us have found: this is a tasty orangecello. If you still dislike the flavor, stay with the traditional lemoncello made the old fashioned way...

Don't understand why people post 5 star reviews when they haven't even tried the recipe .. how many times have they seen something that looked or sounded good but simply didn't work out as described .. at least give it a chance before rating

Good so far. Just started the oranges "brewing". I am hopeful the all the work is going to be worth it. It took the better part of an hour to prepare the orange rinds; quite labor intensive. All in all, what's important is the flavor.

This is fun to make and delicious. I plan on making a batch to put in pretty little bottles for Christmas gifts this year. It's pretty too. Try with Emeril's martini....

As always, another amazing recipe from Giada! This was well worth the wait while the vodka and oranges "brewed."

I haven't made it yet, however I know I'll love it! Oranges, vodka, today I saw the episode she made it on and just had to look it up. I can't wait, I'm going to serve this for Thanksgiving!
