    Made this tonight for my husband & I and he now thinks I'm a genius in the kitchen! This is really a FANTASTIC recipe. The flavors are so rich!!! A REAL WINNER.

    I had always thought that osso buco was for an accomplisd italian chef. Not any more! It was so simple that I surprised myself and my husband. He thinks I better "waste" a little more of my time watching Everyday Italian. My husband thought I bought from an Italian resturant. So, you can teach an "ole" dog new tricks. Thanks, Giada

    my mother would never make osso buco because she said it was too much work. this recipe was easy and so delicious - savory and unique! veal shanks are quite expensive so this will be a treat, but I'll be making this again.

    Great recipe! I used olive oil instead of veggie (and a lot less than 1/2c, and threw in a little chicken broth that I had used to soak sun-dried tomatoes.

    I didn't use veal though. I used thick steaks and it was delicious! Very romantic meal.
