I initially made this for dinner for my husband and I but I find it most popular when entertaining guests for breakfast. Always get rave reviews.

I loved this recipe. I substituted the parsley for scallions the second time I made it, and it was an even bigger hit! I used the base and added ham and cheddar cheese the next time! Try changing it up, it is awesome!

The first time I made this, I follwed the exact directions. The filling was good but the bottom of the crust was a bit soft. The next time, I baked the crust for about 15 minutes prior to filling. The crust stayed cripsy on the bottom and the result was delicious. I've also changed up the filling, once with ham and cheddar the other time with pesto, prosciutto and buffalo mozzerella. A great base recipe!

I have made this for breakfast time, lunch and dinner. It's great when friends come over for a girls night in or just drop by with the kids. my kids love to help me in the kitchen and they get a little messy but love this for any time of day.

I made this for a baby shower and it was very well liked. I did cut the salt in half as others posted that it was a bit salty and I'm glad I did as it came out perfectly.

I don't have much to add. It just worked out so well I wanted to make a comment.

Although pancetta was a little difficult for me to find, it was worth the drive. This torte was delicious. My husband said, "Make it again -- soon!" We both enjoyed it very much. Do leave the salt out though. Pancetta provides adequate saltiness in this recipe.
