The unexpected combo of melty brie, gooey chocolate, and fresh basil on crunchy toasted sourdough is amazing and totally addictive. Super easy treat to make for yourself, and I think guests would be pleased and impressed with it as well. I'm going to make it next week for a girls' movie night in! I better go make another one now, just to test...

This was absolutely delicious!! I was really skeptical about putting brie and chocolate together between sourdough bread slices in a big sandwich, but lo and behold - like a magician's trick, it turned out wonderfully, lucsiously, chocolately, gooey, sweet and crunchy amazing. Kudos and thanks to Giada for such an inventive and flavorful recipe!

Pretty innovative and am sure will be a sure hit with many. For me, it was just good because the strong brie flavor did not complement the chocolate a 100%.

This must be the single most inventive and ingenious panini recipe out there! The cocoa flavor of the dark chocolate and the mushroomy flavor of a ripe brie combine perfectly with the fresh basil and a premium quality extra virgin olive oil. I used Sicilian oil (primarily nocellara and cerasuola, whose slight grassiness brought forward the flavor of the basil nicely.

Wow wow wow! I wish I could give this 10 stars! I found this recipe online today and rushed to the store to get the ingredients! I love anything with brie and this did not disappoint. Don't try to change anything, just make it as the recipe specifies. I read a review where spinach was substituted for the basil! What?! Just because they look similar does not mean you can swap them. There's no way spinach would work with this. I would agree with an earler reviewer who suggested extra basil. It really does bring out and brighten the flavors of the cheese and chocolate. Try it! I know it sounds strange, but you'll love it!!!

Yummy and different. Basil is a MUST otherwise it would be pretty plain.

Awesome panini! I didn't have any basil, so I just used a few leaves of spinach and it turned out wonderfully. I will definitely be making this one again.

I saw Giada making this and also could not wait to make it. Went out and bought all the ingredients and made it to her exact recipe. Was not disappointed, just the most delicious, decadent creation ever! Wish I could eat it everyday, however will have to be a special once a week treat, the waist line won't withstand it! Thanks Giada, you are wonderful.
