I first found this recipe in Giada's book Everyday Italian and had to come on here and add my 5 star review. I've lost count of how many times I've made this sandwich recently. We have tons of out-of-this-world delicious tomatoes in our garden, and this sandwich is definitely worthy of them. I don't drag out my George Foreman, just press hard with a spatula and it comes out wonderful. Sooooo simple and delicous!

Wonderful, fresh-tasting sandwich, and very quick to make! We ate them for 3 days straight until the mozzarella and bread were gone!

    Yum. Loved it.

After making this delicious panini useing a cast iron skillet as a sandwich press I went out and got a panini maker with sandwich press. This was SO delicious.

I love Giada De Laurentis' different recipes for paninis. They are SO tasty in their own different ways, and they taste better than any panini you would buy from those expensive gourmet sandwich shops.

I've also made her tuna and artichoke and her chocolate and brie paninis - my goodness they are all so good. I wan't to try ALL her recipes for paninis now.

It was delicious and easy! I made this for my family this evening while waiting for a snow storm to start. My son, who doesn't eat tomatoes, finished the sandwich in 5 minutes. Brought back summer tastes during a very snowy winter night.

This was the best grilled sandwich ever, like a little pizza sandwich. I used ciabatta bread sliced a bit on the thick side. So good.

I absolutely adore this sandwich, but couldn't resist rubbing some fresh garlic over the toasted bread. Wow!

This was quite good, and would be awesome during tomato season. I don't have a George Foreman grill or a panini press, so I piled 2 heavy pans on top of the panini. It was great - albeit primitive looking. Giada's recipes are super every time!

I just got back from school in Italy, and I have got to say, this panino is better than any I had while I was there (shh, don't tell the Italians. So, so good. Very simple and easy. I highly recommend it.

Giada did it again, taking simple ingredients and bringing them to an all time high level. We think of a hot sandwich as a grilled cheese or a cheeseburger from McDonalds. You can't beat a grilled cheese with a bowl of hot tomato soup, but I'd rather have this sandwich that a cheeseburger any day!
