The flavor was very nice on these potatos. But, I tried them on two different occasions and never could get them browned good. They either burned or did nothing. I must be doing something wrong.

Just had a Sunday brunch and this potato cake was a hit!!! I served it with Paula Dean's egg casserole and it was a perfect match (remember to chop up eggs for Paula's recipe to make it a better consistency. Alone or with the egg casserole, the potato cake was awesome. I did add one egg to the potato cake mixture because I could not believe that it would hold together without it. I also used a 14-inch non-stick skillet, 2.5 pounds of potatoes, extra cheese, and a pizza peel for the flip and serving. All else was the same as the recipe says. Just had one of the leftover pieces cold and was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and consistency. I would take this for a cold lunch any day!! You will not be disappointed.
