I, too, love the idea of adding the cheese to the hot pasta. Giada your grandfather is a very smart man. The smaller the capers the better. Not everyone likes capers but it definately makes this dish. I love all your recipes!
When are you coming to Chicago?

This is another fantastic dish from Giada. I added cooked ground beef and a little red pepper flakes for a little heat. Very colorful and delicious. Will be making this again.

This recipe is so simple and good tasting. It is a no fail recipe. Leave it to the Italians to make something so simple yet filled with a flavor punch.

I also made this just after watching the show, and the only thing I did differently was substitute the capers with diced garlic (because I didn't have capers on hand, and I used Panko bread crumbs (japanese ones because I didn't have regular ones. Still the dish was soo good! It was filling too. I'm sharing the recipe with all my friends now. Thanks Giada, I love your recipes!

This looked so good I actually made it right after watching the episode. It was easy to put together and extremely tasty. I love the idea of tossing the hot pasta with the cheese before adding the sauce. I'm not a huge capers fan so I only added a small handful and next time will probably omit entirely. It heats up well the next night making the leftovers just as good. Must try!

This was really quick and easy to do on a weeknight. My whole family loved it!!! I added thinly sliced red pepper to the tomato gratin, and used garlic salt instead of regular salt for the flavor. I served it as a side and it stole the show!

Made this last night and didn't change a thing but added sauteed shrimp. Turned out beautifully. Great recipe!

Since I love garlic, I added 4 thinly sliced garlic cloves and a medium thinly sliced shallot to the tomato mixture. Also julienned some basil and added with the chopped parsley at the end. What flavors! I'm actually eating it at this moment!

This dish ended up being so simple and easy to make that I made it from memory from just watching Giada prepare it. This is a new family favorite! It's super flavorful. I thought that the cheese would taste too strong, but it ended up being a perfect balance of salty from the capers and cheese and sweet from the tomatoes. DELICIOUS!

This was so easy and so good - Tons of flavor in this dish. I would cut down a bit on the capers because there were so many, but otherwise wonderful!
