Very simple but good! I couldn't find pancetta so I substituted 8 oz of bacon and it tasted awesome.

We thought this was really tasty and my teenagers loved it! I didn't have tomato puree but used a combination of tomato sauce and tomato paste. Since the grocery store didn't have pancetta, I used prosciutto instead and it was really tasty. This one was asked for again!

There was nothing special about this recipe. Yes simple, but not a quick dish to put together after work. I won't make it again, but glad I did try it. Only about 1000 other saved recipes I need to try to get through.

So this is what I thought of the pasta dish. First of all let me say that I did slightly modify it. But only adding things. I substituted the white onions with red ones. This is only because I thought I had white ones in the fridge (from the previous fresh direct order. I added heirloom tomatoes (halved, coarsely chopped fresh basil (to thread through if you will. And I used whole grain linguini, that i boiled in water with about two table spoons of turmeric (it adds such a bold color to the pasta, not to mention all of it's healthy properties. It was great!

Not sure if I did something wrong, because there are so many awesome reviews, but we thought this was just blah. Way too 'tomato-ey". Didn't even taste the pancetta, only tomatoes. Giada's pasta with carrots & peas had much more flavor.

This recipe is what sparked my interest in Giada! It's a simple recipe with such wonderful, delicious results. I've never had to alter it or change it. It comes out perfectly everytime. It's a big hit with guests who, after eating it, claim that it's just as good if not better than something they could get at a high end Italian restaurant. Serve it with a some crust bread and a glass of red wine and you just might get paid!

This pasta sauce is super easy, and absolutely delicious! It has a very concentrated flavor, and whatever you do, DO NOT leave out the pancetta! It makes the dish!! I served this pasta with some sauteed green beens. AWESOME dinner. My boyfriend and I loved it and he said it's a keeper! Once again Giada - THANK YOU(! you never disappoint!
