I hate having to peel peaches. I want to keep as much flesh as possible, so I use the boil and shock peel method, which is a little tedious, but other than that the dessert was wonderful. I tried it also with frozen fruits and they don't do it any justice. Try it, it's wonderful!!!!

I prefer to use fresh fruits, so since peaches are not available, I decided to use bananas. I used bananas that weren't too ripe, still had green near the stem end of the skin. Turned out great! Strawberry/banana combination is one of my favorite flavor combos.

This was super easy to make and the topping was delicious. I couldn't find arrowroot, so I used cornstarch instead. I also used quick cooking oats instead of regular because I had them on hand and it still came out great.

My 10 year old son and I made this today. He was so happy to make this desert and it was just right not too sweet. We used fresh strawberries and fresh peaches we couldn't find arrow root so we substituted it with cornstarch we used the entire lemon instead of half as instructed. the topping was, "off the chain" GREAT!!! I don't really like deserts but this was just right for my family and I feel it was healther than most deserts and beside my son was very happy and wants to try it again this time with apples. Will keep this recipe and use it over again that's for sure. Thank you Giada!!!!

Just tried the recipe and it is so delish! Used fresh strawberries and frozen peaches. Substituted 2 tbsp all purpose flour for the arrowroot flour and instead of half a lemon, I squeezed almost the entire lemon to mix the flour with. The topping is crumbly and buttery, the fruits are soft and sweet and I used some of the sauce to pour on top of the ice cream! Yum-o! So much less sugar than pies and cakes and it's so flavorful - both tart and sweet!
Will definitely be baking this again...
