Can I use natural peanut butter - like from Trader Joe's - or does it have to be JIF or Skippy, etc?

I made these smaller (a little less than golf ball size and used strawberry jam because it was what I had on hand. Baked them for about 8 minutes and they were amazing! So amazing I am wishing I hadn't made them to give to someone else... These will be part of my Christmas cookie list this year for sure!

Because the recipe called for so much sugar, I used only 1/2 c. regular and a lightly packed 1/2 c. of brown and they were still quite sweet. Texture of the cookie was pretty good, but the taste was out of balance. At first, a nice peanut butter cookie taste, but the cocoa (I used a very excellent quality gave a bitter finish that washed over your palate, very unpleasant. Threw them out, will not make again.

I just love how the peanut butter come through the chocolate just enough to know it is there. This cookie remind me of a peanut butter cup. I replaced the jam with kisses, you never can have enough chocolate! Love it! I have already shared the recipe with friends because they loved them as well.

These cookies are sooo good! Really easy to make, didn't change anything. Although I would like to see if they can be made any smaller because they make a pretty big cookie!

Mine flattened out to much and the jelly/jam thinned out and looked dried out. I think if I make this again, i will make them smaller and skip the jelly/jam.

I made these to the recipe the first time and found my new favorite cookie. Second time used orange marmalade and was not disappointed. Both fillings remind me of chocolate covered jellies, one of my all time favorite candies. These are more versatile that you would think. Added a bit of instant coffee and chocolate was over the top. Getting ready to make a batch today, cookie jar empty.

These cookies are easy, pretty and delicious. I prefer smaller cookies so I rolled mine into about one inch balls and put between 1/4 to 1/6 of a teaspoon of jam in each indentation. I baked them for about ten minutes and they were chewy and delicious. I also refrigerated the dough for twenty minutes prior to forming the balls and also inbetween batches. I recommend the blackberry jam - it is not as sweet as other jams and goes perfectly with the cookie. I would definitely make again!
