I have the biggest sweet tooth but I found the cookies came out sweetier than I would have liked them too. Also I did not make them the size she suggested. I used I teaspoon of dough to form the cookies and that gave me a larger batch of cookies (26 total and it was a normal size cookie. I dont like huge cookies...prefer to eat two cookies than waste cookies because of the size. For a really good peanut butter cookie I actually prefer Paula's Magical Peanut Butter Cookies. Simple and delicious!

Too easy to eat too many! These are amazing cookies...even the raw dough was yummy and not too sweet. I used raspberry preserves and still yummy. Loved the texture, but I prefer smaller cookies so I made them smaller. I will be making these again and again and recommending the recipe to friends. Definitely want to try the nutella another reviewer suggested.

I watched Giada make these this morning. They seemed so easy, and sounded so yummy I had to try them. These cookies are seriously good. I did alter the recipe a bit because I didn't have a large ice cream scoop. I used a small scoop and baked them 10 minutes instead of the 11 to 14. I also tried some cookies with blueberry preserves, strawberry preserves, and a whole pecan stuck on top. Blueberries are my favorite fruit, but I found that I loved the ones with pecans and the ones with strawberry preserves best. Chocolate and nuts always go together and chocolate and strawberries are a given yummy. One word of caution; to maintain the chewy texture don't over-cook. Giada I love you! Waiting for true Carbonara - Italian style just like grandma used to make. (((HUGS

Not bad...but not over the top, in my opinion. Would probably make them again because they are easy to make and the ingredients are always in the pantry, so would make a great last minute dessert. But for a special occasion, I would probably make another one of Giada's desserts. She has so many outstanding ones. But this would make a good go-to cookie if you needed something in a hurry.

I loved these cookies. They made 12 huge cookies. They are definitely rich but with the blackberry jam they are to die for. YUM!

When I was watching this episode of Giada at Home it ws no surprise to me that she was preparing delicious recipes. Well when I saw the cookies, I imediately said to myself that I must try that recipe, I make a lot of giada's recipes, and so far I have no complaints except I wish I could really compare mine to hers (you know really eat some of her cooking to just to be able to say it taste the same, I love here Nona's ricotta bisquits (they are really muffins but call them what you like they are delicious. But to get back to the subject at hand, although I have cooked other recipes, I have never rated one (not even the biscuits until now, the cookies are the best, most exquisite cookie I have ever eaten and I will definitely make them again, my grand childen and older nephews have fallen in love with this cookie they will be a lasting part of my repetoir.

Save your time and sanity by not cutting butter into 1/2 inch squares unless its to speed up the softening. Leave the butter out to get to room temperature and use it, or you can simply cut it into thin slices and it will soften rather quickly. I see no reason to cut the butter into half inch squares for this recipe or any recipe for that matter. Also, the reason the dough did not stick to the beater is because it is a oily dough. Cooks on television should be more honest so that the less experienced cooks looking up to them will not be mislead.

I can't describe in words just how good these cookies are. My husband was so sad when he ate the last one. I promised him I would make more on the weekend. They were very easy to make and I had everything on hand already except the jam. A definite keeper!

    My family loved these!

They are not overly sweet so you cannot skip the rolling them in sugar. But they are so good sort of like a chocolate peanutbutter short bread taste! Love Giada's recipes if you follow her instructions to the letter they always turn out awesome!
