These were a big hit at my house. I cooked them according to the recipe, but I will probably add about 5-10 more minutes on the cooking time the next batch I make. The edges cut into bars nicely, but the middle fell apart.

Made these yesterday with a slight revision. After reading the many reviews saying they were too crumbly, I added 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup. I also cooked them in an 8 x8 non-stick pan. The key to these is to measure carefully and let them cool completely before cutting. These would make a great warm dessert with a scoop of ice cream.

I had planned on trying them and after reading the 2 reviews at the time about how crumbly they were, I became curious and made them sooner than I had planned just to see how they came out. Living in high altitude, I did bake them about 10 minutes longer even though the edges were brown but the middle seemed too soft. Then I let them sit for 2 1/2 hrs. before cutting to make sure they were cooled completely. They came out of the pan easily and I was able to cut them in perfect squares and ate one to see how difficult that would be...no problem eating them either. They are sweet and more like dessert but that's ok with me-peanut butter and chocolate, mmmm.

My kids loved these and they were crumbly, so I put them in the refrigerator for about an hour and that seemed to help them hold their shape when you take them out of the pan.

The taste is good, but I find these to be very very swet and not something I would be giving my kids as a snack. They were also very crumbly and hard to cut. I would say these are more of a dessert than a snack.

I really liked the taste of these. They are great! But I did as well find them to be a little crumbly. I just put in a bit more oats and then they were great! Thanks so much Giada.

I watched this show today and made the bars this afternoon. Everything went well until I tried to cut them into squares. I couldn't! They feel apart, very crumbly; had to eat them with a spoon. The taste was good, but there was no way to pick up a square.
