I loved the flavor of these bars, but will definitely cut back on the butter like the other reviewers suggested. I would also suggest baking them longer than the 15 minutes. My bars came out really, really soft.

I have made these granola bars so many times! I love them! They are perfect for snacking, and for breakfast! I play soccer, and these bars give me the energy that I need to make it through practice. I love the flavor that the toasted almonds add to them, as well as the deep taste that the chocolate contributes~will definitely continue making!

I love this granola bar recipe. The only thing I would recommend is to cut down the butter. The recipe calls for a 1/2 cup, but I only added a 1/4 cup when I made it last time. It was better, but you could only add 1/8 of a cup and it would still be good! Thanks Giada!

My 9-year-old daughter used this recipe for her 4-H cooking project judging. She did very well with it. We love this recipe. It is very easy and uses simple ingredients. Best of all, it is delicious and mostly good for you. With the exception of the stick of butter and choc chips the recipe is very nutritious.

After reading the other reviews, I will cut the butter by half the next time I make these bars.

These are fantastic! I have made these a few times. Always great. Most recently I changed them up a bit to suit myself & what I had on hand. Used a whole egg. Can't see a need to separate it or beat it with a mixer. A whisk is simpler. Used whole toasted almonds & roasted peanuts, splenda brown sugar, creamy peanut butter & added raisins. AWESOME!

I found these bars to be really yummy. They had such a great texture: the crunch from the nuts and oats and the creaminess of the peanut butter. Not only that, but the flavor of the peanut butter and almonds together was so good! Just be sure not to overcook/burn the almonds if you're toasting them yourself or else that powerful-burnt-nut flavor will be all you are able to taste of the bars.

These bars are really good but they definitely are more like a cookie vs. a granola bar. I added 1/2 c of dried cranberries. Next time, I will cut the butter by half as I think you would still come out with an amazing bar with a whole lot less fat and calories. I didn't end up with a crumbly product at all, in fact, they were very moist. I cooled them for about an hour and then refrigerated them for about 3 hours and they cut just perfectly. I will make the again but will definitely keep in mind to cut the butter portion down.
