This recipe is great everytime I make it. I love the flavor combination, pungent taste of the pecorino balanced with sweet figs and tart apple. Delicious!

I have a fig tee so I wanted to use fresh figs. it came out a bit too runny... so had to add quite a bit of gelating... but the flavour was good, a bit too sweet , but next time I balance it out with a bit more brandy.

This is the best recipe! Used this as an appetizer at a work function. It was raved about and there were no leftovers. Made it exactly as written. Love the fact you can make the jam ahead and then put it all together! It looks great and tastes even better. Got asked for the recipe over and over!

Made this for a cocktail party we had last weekend but used a prepared fig and walnut jam and just chopped the hazelnuts instead of pureeing them. I actually like the texture of the chopped up nuts.
Next time I would slice the bread thinner and probably not toast it as long, it got a little to crunchy. Otherwise very good appetizer with good flavor combination's.

This tastes even better than it looks. The whole family loved it. I used Grand Marnier instead of the brandy and it tasted delish.

This is a really great appetizer or as part as a cheese course. I put a small dab of the fig mixture on top of the cheese which helped it's appearance a lot.

I will make this whenever called upon to do so. It's awesome! I used toasted pecans instead of Hazelnuts. I also used mission figs which are much smaller & thought I'd ruined my recipe, and with no time to spare, served it anyway. You just can't mess this recipe up...even if you do, it still tastes great! Sweet & savory, crunchy & soft, it's all there. LOVE IT! If you use the smaller black mission figs (dried double the amount called for. She's using the bigger yellowish variety. Whole Foods carries both dried fig varieties in their bulk section (FYI. Also to save me time & energy, I had Whole Foods bakery slice the baguettes for me. Perfect slices in seconds with no effort!
