My husband and I loved this recipe - the almonds add a nice crunch and the lemon zest makes it refreshing. We'll see how it tastes on day 2, but I'm sure it will be just as good. Giada always has the best pasta recipes!

This was a strange dish. I blended the almonds thoroughly to combat some of the texture issues others noted. It had a slight almost sandy feel to it. I added lots of extra spices, but it was still very bland. There was a ton of sauce, the extra almost filled a quart container. My husband had some of the leftovers for lunch and said it had dried out and needed some of that extra sauce, which was at home in the freezer. It was very heavy, bland, and had a strange texture. All-in-all, this recipe will not be added to the rotation. I did notice that it would be fine without the cream, and shared the recipe with a lactose intolerant friend.

This was very yummy and quick to make. Noticed the 3x5 recipe is missing the part of the directions that has the adding of the parmesan cheese. Just read through the recipe first. Loved the texture the almonds gave to the sauce too.

this was simple to make. However it was gritty texture and VERY cheesy. I will not add so much cheese next time and also I will try the toasting almonds instead of blending it. I like the basil in it to.

This recipe sounded so wonderful when she made it on her show.. rushed out and bought all the ingredients just to come home and make it and be totally disappointed. My husband, who eats anything, even took it with him to work to have his co-worker try it and they both stated the same thing.. the texture is horrible and it has a bitter taste to it from the almonds. Not your best work, Giada.

I always use Giada's recipes with outstanding results, however this one missed its mark. I am not sure why. Perhaps it was the dominating texture of the almonds, or perhaps a flavor that is lacking. Next time, I will try to make it without the pureed almonds and instead just toss a few toasted almond pieces on top of the finished pasta. Also, I would recommend adding additional lemon (zest, plus a bit of juice or some heat (cayenne or red pepper flakes. I will continue to use Giada's recipes with great confidence, just not this specific one!

Thanks Giada for another good recipe! I cut this recipe in half and it will yield four serving for myself and my husband. We had two servings tonight and we'll have two tomorrow for lunch. This was yummy. We think the sauce needs more pepper. Also, I didn't have any fresh basil. I used dried but I added it too late to make a difference. I also used whole wheat pasta which made for a heartier dish.
My husband suggested a little more heat. I might try a little paprika and crushed red pepper....we'll see.
All in all - well done! This is a good one for picky eaters and kids because it's mild.

This looks really good and would love to try it but not sure about the almonds. I don't know how it would be then though.

I love most of Giada's recipes but I also found this to be gritty and the cheese made the flavor strong. Maybe a different cheese would have helped.
