I technically havent tried this dish yet, but I saw her make it on tv today and really want to test this recipe. If I had to guess, I would give a 5 star dish (because i'm sure its delicious, but unfortunately I dont have an oven proof dish... so I was thinking about cooking it in a crock pot and slow cooking it. Has anyone had any success cooking it this way? if so, please let me know. thanks.

WOW. A friend made this for a get-together and it was DELICIOUS! Everybody LOVED it! I took a serving home and had it the next day for lunch and it was just as good. My only complaint is how oily the leftovers were. I wonder if there is a way to cut down on the oiliness a bit when making this. Either way, it is absolutely delicious and I will definitely be making this myself!!

Fabulous!! I made this for my dad and his gf and my boyfriend and they all raved about it! A little time consuming but definitely worth the wait! Pairs great with sauteed garlic green beans! Perfect meal to make for a social event gives people the opportunity to mix and mingle over a cocktail while waiting for a nice dinner. Will make over and over again!

I loved this! I added some diced carrots and a diced poblano pepper to the sauteed veggies. I love blending the sauce, it hides the veggies from the kids! Next time I make this though, I will add sliced portobellos (taking those out with the meat so they are not blended into the sauce and then toss it all with some arugula!

Very rich dish that made the whole house smell yummy! This recipe made a lot! My own portions were smaller with lots of leftover for lunches. Served over egg noodles instead of penne- comfort food for my family. My husband is already asking me when I'll make it again.

This dish was excellent!! The meat was tender to the bone and I followed the recipe to a tee. The wine smell surrounded the house as it cooked in the oven! I will say this...is a time consumming dish that is RICH!! The meat added such a rich flavor! Definetly a small portion size dish! Overall LOVED IT and I will definmetly make this again!! Thanks once again Giada! Always a crowd pleaser!

I made this recipe for my husband last night. He travels a lot and always enjoys a home-cooked meal when he gets home, and this did not disappoint! We do not cook with wine and so I substituted the wine with red (not concord grape juice with a splash of red wine vinegar. The taste was wonderful! I also decided to serve this with garlic mashed red potatoes, as it sounded more appealing to me than the penne pasta, and I left the ribs on the bone instead of removing and shredding it. I completely forgot to add the Parmesan at the end but it was wonderful anyway. The meat absolutely fell off the bone. I also used my immersion blender instead of a food processor - much less messy! I would highly recommend this recipe, and will definitely make it again. Thanks Giada.

This recipe is one of my favorites. I follow the recipe exactly. I love the dijon mustard. It definitely makes a difference. Other short rib recipes are too tomato pasty. This is perfect! I have done the recipe 2 ways - one with penne (so-so and the other served ribs on their own with a side of roasted asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. Heavenly! Tonight I'm going to use this recipe and try bone in-skin on breasts, thighs and legs and reduce the cooking time to an hour. I'll report back with the results! :-
