I made the pasta today and was amazing, the only thing was that instead of using goat cheese I used Mascarpone, I figure that it is a cheese that melts well, since my husband absolutely didn't want to try goat cheese. It was great. Next time I will try to add some grilled chicken to it.

What a great flavor combination! Such different ingredients that really come together! I would have never thought to put butternut squash with goat cheese, but wow, this dish is impressive! Yum! My 3 year old son even liked it!

This was absolutely delicious! I used garlic herb goat cheese and bought precut butternut squash from the produce section so it was really easy to make. Everyone thought it was amazing. I will probably try to half the recipe next time because it does make a lot, we had tons of it leftover after dinner with 4 of us. Will be making this again soon, I'm salivating just thinking about it!

Big hit, but my family loves butternut squash. My 3 year old liked it and my husband, who doesn't really like nuts, thought it needed the nuts. Still seems like there's something missing, however. I may try some different add ins for a little more texture/flavor.

Wow! This is a fantastic past dish. I used a garlic and herb goat cheese and it put this dish over the edge of creamy goodness. Even my 2 year old wanted seconds.

So easy and my kids loved it too! Be sure not to throw away pasta water it's necessary to keep it moist. I also added minced garlic to this recipe because it was a bit too bland for my palate. Wonderful to bring to parties!

I'd definitely recommend roasting the veggies with some garlic or garlic powder for more flavor.
I cut the squash and onions into smaller pieces than the menu calls for and it turned out great. I also cut down on the basil a little bit as it tends to be a veeery overpowering herb, so I only used about 1/2 cup.
I served it at room temperature like the other reviewers advised, and it tasted perfect.
    Delicious dish! Highly recommended.

I found this recipe really bland. Maybe if you added some garlic cloves to the squash and onions and roasted them in, it would have more flavor but overall I was really disappointed. I was humiliated when I saw all my guests discreetly throwing out their plates when they thought I wasn't looking. Giada usually has great recipes but this one failed miserably!
