I made this dish for my boyfriend and he loved it!!! He said it was perfect and if he had this in a restaurant he would go back many times specifically for this dish. I stayed true to the recipe although I may have added just a touch more white wine. And it was just as delicious the next day for leftovers.

To get an end result like this and so easy is fantastic. I can't wait to make it for our next dinner party.

    Thanks Giada!

This recipe was very easy to make. It had a wonderful flavor, and is definately a keeper! I used diced tomatoes and not whole tomatoes. I also put a little red pepper in with the shrimp while cooking. I used whole wheat penne. The sauce did take longer than 7-8 minutes to thicken, but I may have not drained the tomatoes as well as I should have. This would be a very good dish to entertain with. Can't wait to share with friends and family.

I suprised my boyfriend at work with this meal. He LOVED it, and so did I.

I did add more pepper flake then called for, because he likes it spicy!

    Will be making this again!

    Thanks Giada!

Maybe a helpful hint for people who want the sauce to thicken faster is to whisk it before adding the shrimp and pasta. When you whisk instead of stir you create air bubbles which thickens the sauce. Hope this helps

I made this for Christmas Eve supper, and everyone loved it. The grandchildren at every bit, and between all of us, there was not a single bite left over.

Was a little apprehensive since i had sub with dried herbs, red wine!?! and only two cloves of garlic--but it came out great! A hit with my hard to please ten year-old Thanks Giada--can't wait to try the original!

I was excited to make this because the concept of this dish sounded really good and it also received high reviews; but in the end, it fell quite short of what I was expecting. I believe the culprit to blame was the clam juice, which gave the sauce an overwhelming (and unfortunate fishy taste. Also, like others have pointed out, the sauce takes some serious time to thicken.

If I had to do it again...
    1. leave out the clam juice, replacing the volume with more whipping cream
    2. after chopping the tomatoes, press them in a strainer before adding to the pan
    3. add more red pepper flakes when combining all products at the end
    2. wait to cook the pasta until the end when the sauce is thickening

We were bored and couldn't decide what to fix for dinner one night -- we had everything on hand except the clam juice so I ran up to the store to get the rest of the ingredients. We did use half and half instead of heavy cream to lighten it up just a hair but we LOVED it. The clam juice makes a huge difference if you don't have it. This will definitely be in our monthly rotation of recipes to cook!
