Pesto is one of my favorite sauces, and this spinach pesto-like sauce is so creamy and yummy! Like a previous commenter wrote, don't forget to reserve the pasta water, a step that I unfortunately miss on a regular basis in recipes :

Definitely don't forget to combine the pasta water with the sauce, otherwise the pasta will be fairly dry. This recipe is not bad; but not worth raving over. Also, I'm a huge fan of garlic, and even I thought there was too much raw garlic in this recipe--maybe use two cloves instead of three.

I loved this recipe! I did alter it a little. Instead of tossing the pasta and the sauce with the fresh spinach, I blended all the spinach into the sauce. I love spinach, but even with all of the ingredients, the major flavor was the greens. Next time I will use more than 2 ounces of goat cheese. Maybe I will use closer to half a cup. I loved the texture of the spinach sauce! I will definitely make this dish again!!!

My 9 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this recipe, however my other two children wouldn't touch it with all the green. We made a few substitutions; rice penne (my daughter has an intolerance for gluten and ricotta cheese instead of goat. We will definitely make this one again!

My husband and I have been looking for nutritious, meatless meals and we loved this recipe! We've made it twice and have passed the recipe along to many of our friends. We think it is reminiscent of traditional pesto, but with much less fatand more nutrient-dense. This will become a "regular" in our house.

This wasn't a huge hit my house. I though the goat cheese and garlic were overwhelming. Might make it again but make a few substitutions.

While I typically love Giada's recipes, this one didn't please my husband or me. The goat cheese is somewhat sour; and the raw garlic overwhelming both in taste and scent. The whole-wheat penne pasta brings a grainy texture to the dish that is only made worse by the raw spinach in the sauce. A lot of differing flavors and textures that don't complement each other.

Caught the middle of Giada making this. Searched my own fridge and made a few changes. I am not a fan of goat cheese so I substituted feta. I also sauteed some chicken sausage and added that. And I had fresh cheese ravioli calling to be used. Love the whole concept and my changes were very well received at my table!

This was excellent!! It came out a bit GREEN but I upped the spinach for more in the recipe. Perfect for a St. Patty's day celebration. I added Wegman's Chicken Feta sausages and Alexia garlic bread for a full meal. Everyone loved it. A big hit that will be repeated often.
