My family always enjoys Giada's foods. But this one did not work for my family. It was too salty, the Treviso made it too bitter and somehow the goat cheese brought out the bitterness even more! I would try this next time with the spinach and less goat cheese.

You can only save up to 1,000 recipes in your mailbox. I had this problem too a few months ago and wondered and wondered about it. Then I noticed that my mailbox was at exactly 1,000 recipes. I thought this seemed like an interesting number and deleted a few recipes then tried again to save one and it worked! Now I make sure that I keep my box at less than 1,000 by deleting recipes that are duplicates, that I didn't really like or that I know I'll probably never make, which turns out to have been a lot of them. Hope this helps you.

Even with substitutions, this worked. My daughter and I really liked this, but they didn't have treviso (which I'd never heard of or radicchio in the farmer's market that day, so I had to substitute a bag of fresh greens with some radicchio in it. And I was out of red pepper flakes also. It was still very flavorful and filling. Don't substitute regular salt for kosher salt because regular table salt is a lot more salty; although, you can use sea salt if you don't have kosher. Also, be sure to use a pan with high sides because it will over flow otherwise.

    1. The ingredients didn't come close to fitting in my standard size 12" skillet. Don't try if yours doesn't have really tall sides.
    2. Do not add any parmesan to the skillet until the pasta is in. Even a small amount of cheese will cause the spinach and radicchio (treviso in Dayton Ohio? Yeah right. to clump together in unappetizing masses that can't be broken apart.
    3. Giada spoke of crumbling in the goat cheese. I don't know what she was using but the only kind I could find at Krogers (which looked similar to hers was the approximate consistency of cream cheese; ie. it doesn't crumble. At best it blobs. Adding it to the warm salad melted it instantly, creating a gluey mess that hardened in the refrigerator.
    4. Feta might work better than goat cheese, but why bother? The balsamic overpowers all other flavors and there's way too much cheese in any case. If someone held a gun to my head and forced me to try this again, I'd eliminate the goat cheese and balsamic altogether and reduce the parmesan by 20%. That way, if there is any flavor to cooked radicchio, it might be detectable.

In conclusion: Looks bad, tastes worse. A waste of perfectly good ingredients. Doesn't anyone test these recipes?

The recipe was delicious, as all Giada things are...but the 1tbs of salt confused me. It's super salty! Did I do something wrong? Did I not use enough greens? I didn't really measure those...I also didn't use vinegar (if that makes a difference because I don't like it.

But you can tell if I hadn't over salted, it would have been just right.

I saw Giada make this and was so excited to try it as her recipes are usually fantastic. I couldn't find treviso, so I used radicchio like she suggested but this did not come together. The balsamic vinegar was too much and overall I just did not like this pasta. Giada has so many other amazing recipes...be sure to try them and save your time by skipping this one.

They are called Built Lunch Bags. You can find them at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Amazon.com, Wholefoods to name a few. They are great bags and machine washable.

The dish was okay to me, nothing to exciting.

I was very surprised by two things in reading the other reviews... 1 that some disliked it so, and even more 2 that some ate it as a cold salad...

I did not see the episode, so I have no idea whether Giada put it out there as a cold salad... but, to my mind, this dish was made to serve hot... and, in doing so, I found it excellent... the tartness of the radicchio and the sweetness of the goat cheese was a wonderful combination...

    Definitely will make this again...
