In watching the video she says to add 4 cups of flour, not 5 like the recipe says. That may be the reason that additional water is needed for the dough. Otherwise, it is a great, easy recipe.

I added about 2 tbsp. extra warm water and the dough as perfect. I split the dough into 3 and had no problem making 3 medium-sized round pizza pies, great flavor - thanks Giada!

Like the others it did require an extra 3 Tablespoons of water, but it was a good consistency. I also used a lot of Olive oil to keep it from sticking to the bowls, and I believe that helped the flavor. One tip I would pass along is to split the ball into 2 smaller ones to make pizza on large sheet pans. I use these all the time and ended up with a REALLY thin crust splitting it into 3. I also baked it at 400 degrees. Just passing this along since I couldn't find an oven temp anywhere!

I cut the recipe in half but still needed to add water to get the desired ball form. Added some basil to the dough for a calzone worthy dough. Gave it a 4 cause while it's an ok basic recipe it needed slight tweeking to make it right.

I make pizza a lot, and thought I'd try out a different dough recipe. I will not make this one again. Very bland, and did not re-heat well. Similar to others, I added more water to get dough to reach the correct elasticity ... no big deal there. And I used my KitchenAid mixer. The dough did crisp nicely in the oven, but didn't do much for my tastebuds.

Dear Vassar62 - I watched the video like 3 times - SHE SAID "5 CUPS OF FLOUR" !!!

SUSH MIXED REVIEWS ON THIS - SOME SAID IT WAS THE BEST AND SOME SAID IT WAS THE WORST!

I have NOT made this yet but now I think I will check other dough recipes so see their ingredients & compare- but it seems easy and looked so good on the video!

ANOTHER COMMENT - THE PRINTED RECIPE SAYS" (next to the 1 1/2" cups water" PLUS EXTRA AS NEEDED!!!! Depends on the humitity!

I agree with Jennifer. I got better results bumping the water up to two cups, adding four tablespoons of olive oil, and two packets of active yeast. Also, adding two tablespoons of sugar to the yeast and water, and letting it sit for ten minutes made for a much more workable dough that had better flavor.

Easy, but not that tasty. You definitely only need 3.5 - 4 cups of flour. It's a little boring/bland with there only being flour, water, and salt and no oil. This made a lot of dough too. At least enough for two pizzas.
