    Inside was creamy as expected but the crust was very thick and hard to work with it crumbled and fell to pieces. I used Smart Balance cooking lard instead of the original lard that it called for. This may have been the reason. May make this recipe again with a different crust and put a variation on the ingredients possibly omit the sausage.

    This dish is outstanding, it is creamy, savory, wonderful. The key here is to not overwork the dough, it will look crumbly and that is how it should be. Don't over handle and it will turn out perfect. A definite keeper and another winner from Giada! Grazie!!

    This dish was both delicious and pretty. Even my picky 14 mo old loved it. I think the above reviewer overworked the dough. The crust was very flaky and light. I will definately make this again.

    My husband and I made this pizza together and were disappointed. It was dry and the top crust was hard. I think we needed to vent the top crust. We wouldn't make this again.
