Loved it! I took queenregina123's advice about infusing the oil for 5 minutes, then taking the rosemary sprigs out, turning the heat to medium, and adding the kernels. Just an easy. I took the leaves off the rosemary sprigs and added them to the popped popcorn. Quick, easy, and fool proof method for making popcorn on the stove!

Love this compelling flavor combination. I infuse the oil myself to avoid stocking one more item, sometimes even sprinkle home-ground rosemary on top. And, it's a fairly healthy snack.

I've been making this for a number of years now and I'm addicted! I love to cook and whenever I ask my family and friends what they want me to make, this is always on the top of the list.

Original review in 2005: This was very good and I even took a shortcut. I put the oil and rosemary (cut into 1 inch pieces in the pot and warmed it for a few mins to infuse the oil with the rosemary flavor. Then I raised it up to medium and added the popcorn. Yum. Next time I will try it the other way and compare.
2010 Update: I usually make a batch of the rosemary oil to keep on hand (with added red pepper flakes and garlic for a subtle kick and make this popcorn often.

When I read the one negative review I thought, "Oh, no!" Being dairy allergic, I've been searching and searching for a nice popcorn recipe. Soy substitute popping oil and butter was just not getting it and I was so hoping that this recipe would work.
Well, it did! Perhaps the person who didn't like it burned the rosemary oil? Just a thought.
This popcorn has a delicate, light taste that almost fools the tongue in to feeling that butter has been added. The hint of rosemary is savory and satisfying. Oh, Giada! Thank you! My popcorn is back and, like it's original recipe, healthy again!

This is a simple recipe so I don't know how I could have messed it up. But it was the most discusting tasting. I guess there's a reason butter is what people put on popcorn. Rosemary is my absolutely favorite herb and on meat I can't get too much of it. But mixed with olive oil and put on popcorn was terrible. This recipe makes quite a large batch and I threw the entire batch away.
I read all the glowing reviews here and thought it must be good. I'm just glad I didn't make it for guests like I had planned to do a couple months ago.

Very good popcorn. Try adding a couple of dashes of cayenne pepper to the oil instead...that is also very good!!

The rosemary oil is so fragrant I can't wait to try it on other things. The popcorn tasted better than if I'd used butter. Excellent light and healthy snack!
