I prepared this stuffing as an accompaniment for Rachel Ray's herb roasted turkey breat and it was a big hit! It does make ALOT of stuffing. There were just 3 of us, but we didn't even finish 1/2 if it.

I was able to locate the chestnuts at my local grocery store on the seasonal display (very pricy but definitely worth it once a year.

This recipe is fabulous! Chestnuts and sausage--what could be better?
For those raters who had a hard time finding cooked chestnuts--Williams-Sonoma and Trader Joe's both carry them steamed in a jar. Trader Joe's is much more reasonably priced

I saw this recipe in the show today and immediately fell in love with it. I haven't actually made this stuffing, but I can tell it is going to taste great. I am planning to add some celery to it because I think it would add more flavor to the stuffing. Also, I love chesnuts so much, and that is one of the reasons that I am fond of this recipe. I would go to an Asian martket if I had time before the Thanksgiving day, but if not, I'm just going to have to go to an Italian market closer to my apartment. It seems like chesnuts are not that popular here in the States, but they are really delicious and great with different kinds of meat such as pork and sausages including chorizo!

Actually, I haven't tried the recipe yet, but I plan to for this year's Thanksgiving dinner. It looks easy enough and I like the idea of using apples. If you live in an area where you can find an Asian Supermarket, they sell bags of pre-cooked chestnuts regularly. You'll find them packaged in bags similar to the new packaging for tuna.

I enjoyed making and eating this dressing as did my family. However, I wouldn't use the chestnuts again. They were hard to find, expensive and I didn't like the texture. May try walnuts as another rater suggested.

I'm not a stuffing person at all but that all changed with this the best. I don't like chestnuts so I used walnuts. We all loved this and will be making it for Thanksgiving again this year....

I cooked this last Thanksgiving and it was a hit at my families table. It may take a little more time than Stove Top but it is well worth the wait. I also had trouble finding the Chestnuts.
