This was easy to make and maybe I should have known to strain the berries. But, if you don't, it just has seeds in it. It would be helpful if the recipe stated that step. But the flavor is still good.

ok...I cheated I put vanilla instead of rose water and toasted almonds instead of raspberries. it was so good. that is the beauty of this recipe: super easy and you can flavour it according to your tastes!!! thank you Giada!

first of all the raspberries should be put through a strainer so the seeds aren't in the custard....this was not stated in the recipe.....I should have done what I knew was correct but followed the recipe.
The taste was bland and the custard didn't set well after sitting in the fridge for many hours.
    NOT A GOOD RECIPE

This was just a disappointment. Lacking in flavor, the custard wasn't sweet enough, the rose water added nothing and the texture of the crushed raspberries in the custard was off-putting and weird. I took a couple spoonfuls and dumped it down the sink. I even tried spooning some sweetened raspberry compote on top made from the leftover raspberries hoping to save it, but nothing helped. Sorry Giada, this one was a miss.

I didn't want to get stuck with a bottle of rose water. I substituted with Orange liquor. It turned out great. Made it for a group of friends, everyone loved it. One friend made me log on and e-mail him the recipe that night.

I make this fabulous recipe ALL the time. It looks so fancy, but it is so easy. Thanks Giada for yet another winner!

Giada, you are one of my favorite chefs and I've tried many of your recipes and they have all been good except for this one.

It just had no flavor and wasn't sweet enough. We even put a little whipped cream on top but there just wasn't any flavor to this dish. I didn't even taste the rose water.

To the person who asks how do you know how custard is set,
you slip a knife in the center and if it comes out clean it is done.

Also, when the custard starts to pull away from the sides that's a good indication that it's done. Hope this helps.

I made these for my wife. She's a meat and potato type person...she's doesn't even like to try new things. I made these "rose thingys" as my wife likes to call them and we both took one bite and though "hmm...not too sure about this" We took a second byte and totally fell in love. I was so surprised that my wife said "honey! You can make these again!". ;- I just made my second batch tonight and this time I have pop-rocks. I can't wait to try the pop-rocks with the "rose thingys" :
