I made this once and now my husband asks for it all the time. Says it tastes even better than his mom's!

We were a cinnamon and raisin rice custard family, then we were hooked on cuban style rice pudding with lemon and cinnamon and anise... now my husband is asking for Giada's version every week! The texture was smooth, not too runny at all, and the orange and rum flavors were subtle but fantastic. I imagine that it would turn out a bit runny if you used regular long grain rice or skim milk, but if you follow the recipe exactly, you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful, needs a little more sugar and not cooked so long.

Nice twist on an old standard. I used skim milk as I'm always seeking good, low fat ideas, but needed to increase the sugar. Worked great.

I was very plesantly surprised that this tasted better than the old fashioned rice pudding my mom makes...and it's good!

Too expensive for everyday family(vanilla bean-$10.00 for one. Then even though all your recipes are fabulous this one tend to be runny even though I cooked it at the required time. I gave it a 3 because it was excellant taste.

In the 70's, my mom would always use leftover rice and pawn it off to the family as dessert. This dessert has since changed my views! I've made it twice for guests to rave reviews.
