I agree that pie pastry would be much better. The pizza dough was too chewy for this. I will try pie pastry next time.

Question: Do these have to be served immediately after the 15 min. cool down? If not, will they get soggy? Should I refrigerate them while we are eating dinner, or leave them at room temp?

This recipe was great! And easy too, I did use some previously written suggestions like using refridgerated pie dough instead, also i didnt thin out the nutella and I used the egg white for an egg wash to cute down on waste (just add water to the egg white. Will defintely make again!!

I loved this recipe. I used both pizza dough and pie crust and, as everyone else said, it was a different taste/texture but both wonderful.

But i guess my annoyance reading the comments is why would you insult Giada's (or anyone else's recipe when you don't follow at least the basic instructions/ingredients? One person who gave this a low rating says that they used ice cream syrup instead of Nutella (a TOTALLY different texture/ingredient and then complained it was hard to close because the syrup was making a mess!

Well all I can say is, "DUH" - but that wasn't the recipes fault.

The pizza dough was chewy. The filling oozed out. And it was too much work. I usually love Giada's recipes but this was not great.

Wonderful. This was a fantastic way to dress up a calzone. I did use puff pastry instead of pizza dough. Thank you Giada

Nutella may be my favorite thing ever, and so this is perfect. Mine oozed quite a bit though. After reading the other reviews I might try pie crust next time.

Only one problem with these, I cannot seem to keep them from busting out the back, I consistently put too much filling in them. Also try using no sugar added apple pie filling along with the ricotta. You could put just about anything you like in these!
