    MMMMM Nutella

Nutella may be my favorite thing ever, and so this is perfect. Mine oozed quite a bit though. After reading the other reviews I might try pie crust next time.

Only one problem with these, I cannot seem to keep them from busting out the back, I consistently put too much filling in them. Also try using no sugar added apple pie filling along with the ricotta. You could put just about anything you like in these!

Good with Pizza dough or Pie crust

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
After reading the reviews there seemed to be some questions about the pizza dough and some suggested using pie crust. I decided to try both and needless to say I really enjoyed both. They each had a completely different taste and almost impossible to compare. While the pizza dough was not as sweet, it was very satisfying and comforting. However, my mixture liked to seep out of the pizza dough ones. On the other hand, the pie crust ones sealed up great and I had no problem with the mixture coming out. These were a lot sweeter than the pizza dough calzones but still great. They were very flaky and delicious. I also decided to try and freeze some for later. This seemed to work out well. So that is always an option.

I substituted pilsbury crescent rolls for pizza dough. 10 min @ 375. They turned out perfect and were very yummy.

These were delicious. I made my own dough in my bread machine, and I had no issues at all. These were very good and I highly recommend them.

    Calzone craziness

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
I couldn't find nutella at my local grocery, so I had to use a mocha ice cream topping instead. Also, the ricotta mixture didn't firm up enough in the fridge. I even left it in there for over an hour! The pizza doe was rubbery, so maybe next time use croissants or biscuit doe. The seal was hard to make since the chocolate sauce was running everywhere. Other than that, they tasted great with the strawberry sauce.

    Pretty tasty

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
Between suggestions in other reviews and the available ingredients at the grocery store, I made a lot of changes, but was quite happy with the result. I rolled out Grands biscuit dough, which was just the right size. Couldn't find Nutella, so I melted choc. chips. Used sweetened cream cheese instead of ricotta and marscapone to save $. Served with whipped cream and ice cream. An easy dessert that looks pretty impressive.

Although I haven't been able to make these look very pretty, they are easy and taste incredible. I get a "wow" every time I make them.

For my skill set, I wouldn't say the recipe is easy to make, but worth it!

I loved the filling! I read some reviews before making it and decided to go with puff pastry, awesome idea! I did heve a little problem with oozing though, but all in all my family loved them.

    Changes made this better

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
This is a good recipe but I noticed several members said their pastry was rather tough. With that in mind I made some changes in the pastry and also because I don't like ricotta cheese, I used plain cream cheese using one cup and added the sugar and egg yolk. I didn't think it was necessary to dilute the nutello with cream and since members mentioned how runny they found theirs, I kept it as is. The other change I made was to use filo dough instead of pizza dough folding one sheet in half, buttering it and adding another folded sheet over the other. I added the cream cheese and nutello on one corner at the bottom of the folded sheets and folded the opposite corner over it like you fold a flag. I brushed each fold with more butter and then baked in a 375 degree oven for 15 minutes until golden brown sprinkling powdered sugar over when done. It came out crisp with no leakage.

My pizza dough appeared a little tough. The filling oozed out of several. I think next time I might just use puff pastry. The filling was good though.

    Heavenly Hazelnut!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This recipe was sooooo gooood and easy to make. I couldn't find pizza dough so I used french bread dough (in the cylinder) instead and also used a fork to press the edges together. Yes, some of them oozed out in the oven, but those were the ones I just filled too full. Since I had some extra chocolate left over, I immediately put it on the top of each calzone after they came out of the oven to soften before I put the strawberries on. My whole family applauded Giada at the dinner table. Outstanding!

    wrong dough

I liked the recipe, filling was great. However, my dough was too tough. Granted I used refrigerated dough so I would try a different dough if I made this recipe again. Also, had trouble with oozing.
