    I have to say that this is really one of the very best sauces I've ever had. And it's so easy and fast! One thing though--you really have to like mushrooms. My family loves mushrooms so this sauce is perfect!

    I love this recipe as is, all of my female friends do as well. However, neither my husband nor any other man I know of appreciate it, great for girls night in.

    As a vegetarian who is tired of sub-par meatless substitutions for traditional recipes, I was thrilled to find this recipe. It is so rich and delicious, I could eat it as a soup! I like to add a lot of extra mushrooms, though.

    The dish is vegetable based, but you do not even need chicken beef or fish alone it is amazing.

    i usually hate mushrooms but it actually never made it say hey i have fungs it it. i had trouble getting some of the mushrooms in he military commisaries but went to whole foods and found them, hubby who has to have meat in every dish, thought their was meat" i also hid a small block of tofu" boy he ate three plates.i told him when he was doing dishes. the tofu added to meaty feel.

    This sauce came out so great! Mine had a bit of a kick to it, which I loved, but if you don't like spice, I would suggest cutting back on the pepper. This recipe made a lot of sauce - I was able to use some for dinner for just two of us, then froze the sauce for use later. Also - this sauce is so flavorful, it's a great one to accompany wheat pasta.
