The salmon and almonds went well together. The puff pastry, tomato and pesto blended nicely. When you combined all the ingredients it was a mess. I did not like the taste. The puff pastry got soggy and the dish was gross! I would serve the salmon with the almonds and the puff pastry, pesto and tomato as an appetizer.

Giada oh my goodness! This was sooooo quick and easy. I love the nutty flavors with the salmon. I added lemon to the salmon and sprinkled it with kosher salt before baking and my salmon did need about five minutes or so more than the pastry, but all I did was let the pastry cool slightly on the plate while the salmon finished cooking. I also only needed half of one sheet of pastry for two 6 oz. fillets. Amazing and a definite keeper!

I thought this recipe was too good to be true! I made it tonight, and my husband and I were in heaven! Truely simple and delicious.
I made one change: on her show, she used parchment paper to bake the salmon and pastry, instead of foil (which the recipe calls for. I used parchment paper, and it worked very well.

Made this last night..with some modifications: Add salt and pepper and a little lemon juice to the salmon before baking; I did not add the tomato slices - don't think it needed it; Cook the salmon and pastry seperately...pastry cooked faster than my salmon; Let the pastry cool for 5 min before putting the basil and salmon on it; Used reduced fat basil to cut the fat a bit. It was SOOO good!!

I made this dish a couple of months ago for my mom and I. She was extremely impressed. A week ago her cousins came to visit her, she let me know that she was serving it to them, and she had even passed on the recipe to some friends of hers. There's no greater a compliment from a mother to her daughter, than when the daughter has made a meal that the mother later continues to make! Thank you Giada!

This dish looks restaurant quality-and it is absolutely delicious. I used a basil and walnut pesto that I had made and frozen. This was very simple to make- great for an easy weeknight meal or for company. Definately a keeper!

This is now one of my go to recipes for company. It looks so nice and it's very flavorful! Plus, it is so easy I can spend more time with my friends and less time in the kitchen. Thanks Giada - this one is a winner!

The salmon, almond, pesto and tomato flavors were good but I prepared it per the recipe and would not do that again. The salmon was overcooked and the puff pastry not cooked so I had to remove the salmon and continue baking the puff pasty. The pastry is dry so I think you really need a sauce of some kind to make this recipe work. If I fix it again I would bake or pan sear the salmon separately and come up with a sauce to complement the pesto. Not a favorite!
