I grill the swordfish and the eggplant then cube it and toss with the pasta. It's easier and adds some smoky grilled flavors. We all fight over the leftovers because it's better on Day 2 and 3-- not something you can usually say about fish dishes. (Can use regular eggplant if you sweat it first.

When I went to the store to buy the swordfish they squawked about it ("I'm not eating that!" so I backed off on the amount of swordfish, but I am sad I did because it was so darn good! Even though this recipe feeds a lot more than my family of four can eat we picked all the swordfish out and gobbled it up so the leftovers are sad. I agree with the lemon recommendation - just a light spritz will do but it brightens up the flavor. We also sprinkled freshly grated parmesan on it because we all love it. I put a shaker of red pepper flakes on the table too - Mom likes it spicy!!! Used yellow summer squash and zucchini instead of eggplant - again, personal preference and it adds great color. Also used whole wheat penne - which makes for a heartier noodle and easy way to sneak in some more good stuff for the kiddos. Giada - you rock, sister!!

This is a lovely recipe, very enjoyable, I've made it several times now, once with shrimp as a cold salad too! The one thing it's missing is a shot of lemon juice to perk it up. I also add lemon zest.

This looked great but mine turned out very bland, despite generous amounts of red pepper flakes and salt. Might have benefitted from the addition of olives or perhaps a drizzling of balsamic vinegar.

I love pasta but not a fan of creamy thick sauce; therefore, this recipe works out great. Light but flavorful. I substitutes japanese eggplant with yellow squash and zuchini and just use grill chicken, instead of fish. Taste great!

The recipe was easy to follow, just not my favorite to eat. It was okay. Swordfish was very fishy. The recipe was good, I guess we just arent big swordfish eaters.
