Although working with phyllo dough it just a pain even if you just trying to make this quick version of baklava the taste is so worth it. The first time I made it it didn?t' have the desired sweetness to it so I drizzled a bit more honey over them after baking and it worked just fine and tasted great. I had more filling left over and stored it in the fridge to make some more the following week. This is a quick recipe if you have some filling already on hand. My kids couldn't get enough of those and they were gone within an hour of making them. I must say I actually like the individual sizes better then the baklava sheet you have to cut.

I followed the recipe making these for a Christmas gathering. Everyone enjoyed them--I had no baklava to bring home. I think the filling for the baklava allows for infinite variation and so will try some different dried fruit next time.

I had never worked with the phyllo dough. This was not hard but required slow careful work. I cut the phyllo dough with a pizza cutter.
I used 1 T. (as stated in the recipe of filling for each baklava, and had some leftover. I don't think I could have added more filling.
Since I have a 24 mini muffin pan I did all the phyllo and filling then went back to close the phyllo into bundles. That was a mistake. The phyllo that had set the longest was hard to shape. I used some extra bits of phyllo dampened with a few drops of water to repair tears.

I also had to melt more butter for brushing on the phyllo so I obviously slathered it on a bit too generously on the first batch. I guess just a light brushing is adequate.

You've got the picture for the fried mott, and not the Simple Baklava.

I FOLLOWED THE RECIPE EXACTLY - ALTHOUGH EASY ... PHYLLO WAS A BIT CHALLENGING TO WORK WITH BUT GOT BETTER WITH 2ND BATCH.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T LIKE STRONG TASTE OF GROUND CLOVE, LEAVE IT OUT - I FOUND IT TO BE A BIT TOO STRONG - NEXT TIME I WILL LEAVE IT OUT

THIS WAS GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT !!! LOVE GIADA

This sounded yummy but I'm a total chocoholic... plus needed to deal with what I had on hand. I made it with almond and pecans, and instead of apricots, used mini-chocolate chips. Took it to a party, it was a huge hit, I will definitely make it again!

THis was a wonderful quickly put together recipe...I did use the phyllo cups though, which I felt were worth it, made it for a friend and she loved them!

Absolutely delicious and versatile recipe. It doesn't taste like traditional baklava to me, more like the same flavors in a lighter, healthier version. I used phyllo cups as another reviewer did, to make it easier and lower in fat, added more honey and next time will add more spice. This recipe makes somewhere between 12 and 24 cups. Perfect summer party dish!

I'm a Weght Watchers life time member, so immediately I looked for a way to further lighten up this recipe. I cut off 400 calories and 12 grams of fat by using butter spray instead of butter on the phyllo sheets. I also used Splenda instead of the sugar and increased the honey to 6 tablespoons. I was able to get this to 2 points a serving, without sacrificing flavor or texture. Yeah!

I had so much fun making this recipe! It was the first time I baked with phyllo dough and I was a bit worried...but it turned out so much fun, and not at all difficult. You just have to be careful. As for the recipe overall, it was fantastic! So simple and delicious. I have never particularly liked baklava because it's usually very sweet, but this was just right! Taking the advice of the other reviewers, I did add 2 extra tbs of honey, also added some dried cranberries, and made a little more filling than called for (which turned out to be just the right amount.

I am definitely going to make this again and try different fruit/nut variations.
