Thank you ashleydawn. I made this and it didn't taste right. Your suggestion of balsamic vinegar made all the difference. i added it at the end, and it balanced the flavors nicely.

Love this recipe - simple and delicious! I frequently add other veggies (zucchini, peppers, mushrooms to make it even heartier, and it comes out great. I usually double the recipe and freeze the leftovers.

This recipe is a good base. I did add a few things, but I alway do. My husband tells me that I never can just leave a recipe alone. So I did add a TB of tomato pasta, 2 TB of Fig Balsamic Vinegar, as well as some oregano, and red pepper flake. I also love garlic so, I always double the garlic on any recipe, I make. I also added a pinch of nutmeg. It turned out pretty yummy.

Good for a quick meal but I wish I had read the comments about adding balsamic vinegar for a more full flavor!

Not a real bolognese but simple it is, tasty it is. I used a meatloaf mix and deglazed the pot with some red wine. Will make it again if there is no time to do the real thing.

Great base sauce. It was bland so I added a tablespoon or two of balsamic vinegar and a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. It added a depth of flavor and you can barely taste the cinnamon. Guests ask, "What do I taste in this sauce? It's delicious!"

This recipe is great, but sounded a little bland. So when I was sauteing the onions and garlic, I added about 2 tablespoons of some decent balsamic vinger, and after that was absorbed, added the carrots (finely chopped. Left out the celery and substituted the reg. black pepper for red pepper flakes. And it was delicious! Paired it with some cheesy penne. YUM
