This sauce is awesome! It does make a lot and I did use San Marzano canned tomatoes. I also used quite a bit of butter to cut the acidity. It was perfect! It freezes very well and has been nice to take out for dishes to have fresh tomato sauce like meatballs and parmesan chicken. I will definitely make this again!

This was a very tasty sauce!!! I always tried to make my own tomato sauce but it never turned out right. You can make this sauce for any dish like lasagna, spaghetti or even pizza. This is a sauce that I will make for years to come.

This sauce is wonderful. It is my "go to" sauce recipe.

If you could give a recipe 0 stars I would. This was absulutely the worst sauce I ever made. I posted a negative comment the first time I made it, but decided to give it another try. The sauce has little flavor and even with the regular sized carrots - the sauce was still orange in color.

Hands down, my favorite tomato sauce to make and to eat! My mom loves it so much that I now make it in bulk so that I can give her a pint!

    Side Notes:
I don't like sugary tomato sauces and I really can't stand bitter sauces. The butter trick fixed both issues whilst making the sauce ever so slightly creamier. I use a lot more butter than the recipe calls for, but I come from a family that appreciates butter.
    Freezes beautifully.
An excellent present for a friend or college student. I make a little care package with the sauce, a package of pasta, parm and a quick bread mix.

My kids love speghetti and we have it once or twice a week. This sauce is simple, flavorful and a hit at home! I spice it up a bit with some red pepper for my husband and is also fantastic with Italian sausage.

I read the reviews and jumped on it. I love Giada and have tried her recipes several times (all have come out divine. However, this is one recipe I will not spend time following again. It was bitter, as the recipe states it might be, so I added a little butter (as the recipe states to do. But then, the sauce became very bland. When I processed the sauce, until smooth, it became orange! It was not a bright red, as you would expect to see in a regular tomato sauce. I am gravely disappointed and desperate to find a delicious, authentic Sicilian home-made spaghetti sauce that is thick and delicious. For now, I have to stay with my jarred sauces.

I've made this a couple times, but I think it's just "ok".I was hoping after the first time I made it that "maybe" it would get better, but nope.
